Privacy Policy & Terms of Service

Hello vistor. I don't collect much data (if any at all), but I'm legally required to post this notice. This outlines what I collect, how it's stored, and how I use it. It also outlines the rules that you agree to by visiting my site or using my apps.

Types of data I collect, what I use it for, and how it's shared (spoiler alert: I don't share data)

  • Your IP address in the form of access logs. This is mainly for debugging purposes and anti-abuse. I likely do not know who you are by your IP address, and I'm not in the business of figuring out who you are, unless if you attack my website. You probably shouldn't be concerned about me paying attention to your IP address—be concerned about your ISP and law enforcement. If you're still concerned or confused, here's an article that explains what an IP address reveals about you. After that, if you're still concerned about your IP address, you probably shouldn't be using the internet.

Types of data collected by third-parties (people who aren't me)

On some of my websites and apps, I utilize Google Analytics, a free, third-party analytics program that tracks who uses my services. By using my services, you agree to the Google Analytics Privacy Policy. For more information, please refer to this help article: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. To opt-out of Google Analytics on my website and others, please install a tracker blocking extension such as Ghostery or the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Cookies

Some of my websites use cookies. If you don't know what a cookie is, a cookie is a piece of text stored on your browser that might contain something that identifies you. I don't use any analytics programs that track you (or any at all), so you shouldn't be concerned about cookies on my website. By the way, not all cookies are bad. Cookies that track you across websites: bad. Cookies that make sure your accounts stay signed in: good.

I'm based out of Southern California, so I am well aware of all the privacy laws and have an appreciation for them.

Terms of Service

  • I'm providing the utilization of the services on my website and various web apps for free to you. They are mine, not yours; I am simply letting you use them at no cost to you. I love making them and I enjoy learning new things—that's why.
  • Please do not try to hack or otherwise gain unauthorized access to my servers.
  • Please do not steal my work. Most of the things that I make that are open-source are licensed under the MIT license (see the repos). If you end up spinning off my works, please attribute me and my original work.
  • I am not liable for any damage that using my websites or apps may cause to you or your computer. I provide no warranties or guarantees. Use at your own risk. (I don't anticipate that anything will happen to you by using my stuff, so that's why.)
  • By visiting my website or using my apps, you agree to the above Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. If you do not follow these Terms or do not agree with them, you are not permitted to use my website, apps, or services. (You'd best hit Ctrl-W or Command-W now.)
